Joseph Gilliss, Ephraim Wilson Samuel Adams Wm. Winder, Ephraim King George Gale Jr & Thomas Jones
And none Others to be Judged also by these presents we do Command the Sheriff of our Said County of Somerset
that at the Several Courts to be held for our Said County he Give his Attendance and Cause to Come before you or Any
three or More of You as afd. Such and So many Good and Lawfull men of his Bailywick out of Each and Every
hundred thereof by Whom the truth of the Matter in the Premisses may be the better known and Enquired of
Lastly you Shall Cause to Come be brought before you at your Said Courts all Writs precepts process
and Indictments to Your Courts and Jurisdiction belonging that the Same may be Inspected and by due Course
of Law determined Witness Our trusty and well beloved Horatio Sharpe Esqr Lieutenant General and
Chief Governor of our Said Province of Maryland this twenty Second day of September in the Eleventh Year of
our Dominion &c. Anno Dom. 1761

Henry Daniel Dulany Stephen Bordly and John Ridout Esqr. Samuel Adams William Winder
Ephraim Wils King, George Gale Jur & Thomas Jones of Somerset County Gentlemen Greeting we do hereby
Authorize and Impower you or Either of You to Administer the Several Oaths Appointed by Act of Assembly
to be taken to the Government as also the Oath of Judge or Justice to Benjamin Tasker, Charles Hammond,
Samusl Chamberlain, Phillip Thomas and Edward Lloyd Esqr. Isaac Handy, Sampson Wheatly, Joseph Gillis
and Ephraim Wilson of the Same County Gentlemen or Any of them and You the Said Benjamin Tasker, Charles
Hammond, Samuel Chamberlain, Phillip Thomas, Edward Lloyd, Isaac Handy, Sampson Wheatly, Joseph
Gilliss and Ephraim Wilson or Any of You having taken the Said Oaths are hereby Impowered to Administer the Same
to the Justices an Commissioners Respectively as they are nominated in the Within Commission and we will that
You and Every of You haveing taken the Said Oaths do Severally Subscribe to the test and Oath of Abjuration and for
So doing this Shall be your Sufficient Warrant and Authority hereof fail not and When you have the Same So done
You are to Certify the Same under your hands and Seals to me in our high Court of Chancery with all Convenient
Speed Witness Our Trusty and well beloved Horatio Sharpe Esqr. Lieutenant General and Chief Governor
of our Said Province of Maryland this Twenty Second day of September in the Eleventh Year of our
Dominion &c. Annoq Dom. 1761

   Which being Read and heard thereupon Samuel Adams Pursuant to the dedimus to him directed Administred
the Severall Oaths Appointed by Act of Assembly to be taken to the Government As also the Oath of Judge or
Justice to Isaac Handy and Joseph Gilliss who Severally took the Same and Repeated the test and Subscribed the
Same with the Oath of Abjuration    Thereupon the Said Isaac Handy Administred the Same Oaths

Agreeable to the dedimus to him directed to Samuel Adams ^ Ephraim King and Thomas Jones who Severally took
the Same and Repeated the test and Subscribed the Same with the Oath of Abjuration and took their
Places on the Bench as follows Vizt

   Whereupon the Court being Called Sat as above Proceeded to Business in Manner following

      Proclamation being made the Sheriff of Somerset County Returned a Pannell of Grand Jurors
to Inquire &c. to witt William Fleming, Wm. Giles, Christopher Piper, Thomas Pollit, John Givans, Thos. Standford, Jonathan
Pollit, John Benson, Wm. Jones, Robert Dashiell, Jonathan Stott, George Dashiell, Charles Leatherbury Wm. Benston
Fountain Beauchamp, Beauchamp Davis, Nat. Daugherty, Thomas Marshall, James Dikes, Mathew Cannon &
