sion, so as to equalize in amount, their shares respectively,
with the respective shares of the other persons interested as
aforesaid, and the balance shall be distributed agreeably to
equity and the terms of said will, by said court.

A further supplement to the act, entitled, an act to authorise
the making a general Alphabetical Index of the Land Re-
cords, of Baltimore County, from the year seventeen hun-
dred and ninety nine, inclusive, and to keep up such index
henceforth

Levy in advance

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the commissioners of Baltimore county, and
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, respectively be,
and they are hereby authorised and required to levy and
collect, yearly in advance, their respective portions of the
amount which may be reported as the probable amount of the
expense of the index, agreeably to the third section of the
act to which this is a supplement.

Sec 2. And be it enacted, That the provisions of the
first, third, and fourth sections of the act to which this is a
supplement, and of the supplement to said act, passed at De-
cember session, in the year eighteen hundred and thirty
three, be and the same are hereby made and declared to ap-
ply and extend to the general indexes of bills of sale, mort-
gages of personal estate and other conveyances, beside such
as relate to land, recorded in Baltimore county, required to
be made respectively, and kept up by the act of December
session oi the year eighteen hundred and thirty three, chap-
ter eighty eight, and the proportions of expense of said
index, chargeably, accordingly, to Baltimore county, out
of the limits of the city, and to the city of Baltimore respec-
tively, as provided by the first section of the act to which

county, and the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, are

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That in case of the absence
from Baltimore, or sickness of the Chief Judge of Baltimore
County Court, either one of the associate Judges of said
court, he and he hereby is declared to have all the power
