tors, they shall be individually responsi-

ble, and shall refund to the Stale

Stipulations required of said compa-

ny, before any payment under this act,

that tolls should not be altered without

consent of the State, and that they shall

be made uniform, &c.

And that said company will, until the

Canal is completed, report every three

months to the Treasurer W. S., the pro-

gress made in the work, the quantity to

be done, &c.

In case the State subscribes for the

stock, in virtue of the 6yh sec. after the

sinking fund, shall become equal to the

debt and interest, under this act; or in

cuse of non subscription upon payment

of principal and interest of said debt,
then the whole of the dividends shall be

applied to the support of common schools

throughout the State, and be distribut-

ed according to the ratio directed under

Resolution No. 47, of 1833.
