estate, and to hold the proceeds of such sales to the uses
of said will, and with power to invest the same in fike
manner as is provided by said will in relation to the pro-

with power to lease the said real estate for any term or

CHAPTER 277

A supplement to the act, entitled, an act relating to the City
of Baltimore, passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and seventeen, chapter one hundred and forty eight.

Section 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That in all cases of applications to the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore, by virtue of the act to which
this is a supplement, for opening, extending, widening, of
straightening, any street, lane, or alley, in the city of Balti-
more, the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore shall ap-
point three or more persons, who, or a majority of whom,
shall be empowered to act as commissioners, for ascertain
ing and assessing the damages that shall be sustained by
such opening, exten ling, widening, or straightening, and
ascertaining, and assessing the benefits to he derived there-
from, and apportioning and charging the said damages on
