CHAP 58.

by authorised and directed, whenever a deed from Richard
Templin to Henry Keller, bearing date the second day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-two, and
conveying a certain negro slave called Anna Koon, for a
certain term, at the end of which she was free, shall be
placed in his office, to record the same; and the said deed
when so recorded, shall have the same effect and operati-
on, as if it had been recorded within the time limited by
law. .

An Additional Supplement to the act for making the
River Susquehannah navigable from the line of this
State to tide-water.

Preamble

WHEREAS it has been represented to this general assembly
of Maryland, that the Susquehannah canal suffers much in-
jury from the want of proper enclosures, which cannot with
certainty be erected, owing to the destruction and loss of
the bounds of the land held by the proprietors of the Sus
quehannah canal, and on which said canal is constructed:
And whweas it appears proper that the boundaries of said
land should be ascertained by a more speedy process, than
that which must be instituted to make and bound lands un-
der the general act of assembly for that purpose; now,
therefore,

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That George Gale, Thomas Patton, George A.
Thomas, Alexander E. Grubb, and Samuel Rowland, all of
Cecil county, be and they are hereby appointed commissi-
oners to make and bound the lands heretofore acquired by
the proprietors of the Susquehannah canal, for the purpose

sand seven hundred and eighty-three.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall, as soon hereafter as they con-
veniently can, cause advertisements to be set up at the
locks of the said canal, and at the court-house door of Ce-
cil county, and also published in one or more newspapers
in the city of Baltimore, and in the town of Elkton, noti-
fying the time of their meeting, thirty days at least before
their meeting, and shall meet on the land, agreeably to the
notice by them given as aforesaid, to adjust the boundaries
of the lands owned by the proprietors of the Susquehannah
canal, according to the evidence and the circumstances of-
fered or appearing before them; and before any one of the
said commissioners shall proceed in the marking and bound-
