RESOLUTIONS.
1829.
State Librarian, be, and he is hereby authorised,
under the
direction of the joint committee on the State Library, to dispose
of all the volumes of the Laws of Maryland, including
Kilty's Index, now in the Library; reserving twenty-five sets
for the use of the Legislature, and the said joint committee
are authorised, and directed, to lay out the proceeds thereof,
in the purchase of other law books, for the use of the said
Library.

A Resolution with its preamble, in favor of John Morris, of
Baltimore county.
|
Passed Feb. 20, 1830.
|
WHEREAS, an act passed at last session
of the Legislature,
authorising the Register of the Land Office, for the Western
Shore, to issue a patent to a certain John Morris, Alias John
Morrison, of Baltimore county, for a tract of land called
'Pleasant Hill's,' lying in said county, purchased by him from
the intendant of the revenue; Provided, the said Morris should
pay to the Treasurer of the Western Shore, the sum of fifty
cents per acre, for twenty-nine acres of surplus land included
in the survey thereof, and whereas, the said treasurer has expressed
some doubts, whether he would be justified in receiving
said fifty cents per acre, without interest; and there appearing
no account on the books of the said treasurer, against
said Morris; Therefore,

Resolved by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the
Treasurer of the Western Shore, be, and he is hereby authorised
and required, to receive fifty cents per acre only, without
interest, for the twenty nine acres of surplus land, mentioned
and included in the certificate of the survey of the tract of
land, called 'Pleasant Hill's,' made and returned to the Land
Office aforesaid.

A Resolution in favor of the Maryland Institute, for the promotion
of the Mechanic Arts.

Passed Feb. 23, 1830.

Resolved by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the
Treasurer of the Western Shore, be, and he is hereby directed,
to pay annually, on the first day of March, to the President
of the Maryland Institute for the promotion of Mechanic
Arts, the sum of three hundred dollars; Provided, It shall
