CHAPTER 187.
An act for the relief of the legal representatives of William S.
Morsell, late Clerk of Calvert County Court.
|
Passed Feb. 27, 1830.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Mordecai Smith and James S. Morsell, administrators
of William S. Morsell, late clerk of Calvert county
court, be and they are hereby authorised to make out an account
of the fees which were due to said William S. Morsell,
late clerk as aforesaid, at the time of his death, and chargeable
on the first day of March next, and tender their list to the respective
sheriffs of the several counties from which said fees
are due, by the twelfth day of May next, and the said respective
sheriffs are hereby required to receive the said list, and
give their receipts for the same to the administrators aforesaid.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted,
That the respective sheriffs
aforesaid be, and they are hereby required to collect and account
for said fees in the usual manner.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted,
That the bonds of the said sheriffs
shall be responsible for the collection and a true and faithful
account of said fees, in the same manner and to the same extent
as if said fees had been placed in the hands of said sheriff
for collection, on or before the first day of March, any former
law to the contrary notwithstanding; Provided, That nothing
herein contained, shall operate to limit or shorten the time allowed
by said sheriffs to collect officers fees.

CHAPTER 188.
An additional supplement to the act entitled, an act to amend
the Lottery System.
|
Passed Feb. 26, 1830.

Section 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That no person shall hereafter sell, barter, exchange, or
otherwise dispose of, or offer to sell, any token or device
which may be intended in fact as a substitute for any ticket,
or part of a ticket, in any lottery or any instrument, which
may, directly or indirectly, refer to any lottery.
