to or consistent with this act, shall be good and available
[ ] all things in the law, according to the true intent and
meaning of this act, and shall be construed, reputed and adjudged
in all cases most favourable, so as most effectually to answer
the valuable end of this incorporation towards the general
advancement and promotion of useful knowledge, science
and virtue.
  CHAP. 183.  
    Sec. 6.  And be it enacted, That in order to realize the object
of this act, the said president, visitors and their successors,
shall be authorised to increase their funds and resources
by donations, and also to carry into effect, for the same purpose
all acts of assembly heretofore passed in behalf of the Frederick
county school; Provided, That the estate of the said college,
real, personal and mixed, shall at no time exceed the
sum of forty thousand dollars.
    Increased funds,
&c.




Limitation.
    Sec. 7.  And be it enacted, That the said president shall
be styled, President of the Frederick college, and in his absence
the said visitors shall appoint a president pro tempore,
who shall be vested during such absence, with powers to discharge
the duties of president.

                                        CHAPTER 184.

                  An act to repeal the act, therein mentioned.


Passed Feb. 27, 1830.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and twenty-eight, chapter one hundred and thirty-one,
authorising the Governor and Council to appoint an inspector
and measurer of lumber, and a measurer of coals, in the Town
of Williamsport, in Washington county, be, and the same is
hereby repealed.
Repeal.

                                        CHAPTER 185.

An act for the relief of George V. Castle, an insolvent debtor,
                                    of the State of Ohio.



Passed Feb. 27, 1830.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Judges of Frederick county Court, or either
of them, or any Justice of the Orphan's Court of Frederick
county, be, and they, are hereby authorised and required,
to grant to George V. Castle, of the State of Ohio, the
benefit of the several acts of Assembly, passed for the relief
of insolvent debtors; Provided, That the said Castle, shall
comply with the provisions of the said insolvent laws, in all
Insolvent laws extended
to.
