Bond.











Oath.






Penalties.
and commissioners of the tax, in the same manner as the clerk
of Prince George's county court, and the clerk of the commissioners
of the tax for said county, are now by law severally
authorised and required to transact for the same; and the person
so appointed shall, before he enters upon the duties of his
office, execute a bond to the State of Maryland, to be approved
of by the said levy court, in the penalty of one thousand
dollars, conditioned for the true and faithful performance
of the several and respective duties hereby imposed, which
bond shall be recorded in the clerks office of the county
court of said county, and a copy thereof under the seal of
the court shall be as sufficient evidence as the original; and
the clerk when appointed, shall [shall] take and subscribe the following
oath, or affirmation, as the case may be, to wit:  I, A. B.
do swear, or affirm that as clerk to the levy court of Prince
George's county, I will honestly and faithfully, to the best of
my skill and judgment, execute the duties of said office, without
favor, affection, or prejudice, so help me God; which oath
or affirmation, any one of the said levy court is hereby authorised
to administer; and the said clerk shall be subject to the
same penalties and forfeitures for non performance or neglect
of official duty, as are prescribed by the existing laws in relation
as well to the several matters and things which the clerk
of the county clerk of said county is legally directed and required
to perform, under the authority of the levy court, as
likewise to whose which appertain to the office of the present
clerk of the commissioners of the aforesaid county.
Case of Vacancy.
    Sec. 4.  And be it enacted, That in case of a vacancy occurring
in the office of clerk to the levy court as created by this
act, in consequence of death, resignation, removal or disqualification,
the same shall be supplied as soon thereafter as may
be practicable, in the manner prescribed by the preceeding
section of this act.
Compensation.
    Sec. 5.  And be it enacted, That the said clerk to the levy
court, to be appointed in virtue of this act as aforesaid, shall
be entitled to receive as a compensation for his services, such
sum annually, as the said levy court may direct, not exceeding
three hundred dollars, to be levied on the assessable property
of said county, collected and pay over as other county charges.

Duty of clerks of
county courts.
    Sec. 6.  And be it enacted, That upon the appointment of
a clerk to the levy court as aforesaid, the clerk of Prince
Georges' county court shall, on demand of the said clerk to
the levy court, by order of the said levy court, forthwith deliver
over to the said clerk of the levy court, all the books, accounts,
papers and documents, belonging or in any manner
appertaining to the levy court of said county; and shall annually,
on or before the third Monday in May, furnish to, and
lay before the said levy court, all copies of such lists, accounts,
papers and documents, as may be useful and necessary, to the
