CHAP. CLXXII.

An Act, to divorce Sarah Sandman, and her Husband

CHAP. 172.

Jacob Sandman, of Washington County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
aryland, That the said Sarah Sandman be and she is hereby
divorced from bed, board and mutual cohabitation, with her
husband Jacob Sandman.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Jacob Sandman
shall not by virtue of his marriage with the said Sarah
Sandman, be authorised to have or claim any right or in-
terest in the estate, real, personal or mixed, of the said Sa-
rah Sandman, to be by her acquired after the passage of
this act, nor shall Sarah Sandman be authorised to have or
claim any right or interest in the estate real, personal or
mixed, of the said Jacob Sandman, to be by him acquired
after the passage of this act.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Sarah Sand-
man shall have and exercise all the rights, privileges and
immunities, and be subject to all the legal responsibilities,
of a feme sole, in the same manner she would have been if
she had never been married.

shall not be liable for any debt to be hereafter contracted by
the said Sarah Sandman.

CHAP. CLXXIII.

A Supplement to an Act, entitled, An act for the relief
of the Poor of Queen-Anne's County.

Passed Mar 12, 1829

WHEREAS persons received into the alms and work house
of Queen-Anne's county, are sometimes possessed of in-
considerable portions of property, real or personal, and it
seems reasonable that the profits to be derived from such
property should be applied to the use of the public, so long
as the owners thereof are supported by the county ; there-
fore,

Preamble

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the trustees for the poor of Queen-Anne's
county be invested with full power and authority to take
into their care and possession, all the property, real or per-
sonal, of any person who has been admitted, or shall here-
after be admitted, into the alms and work house of the said
county, and the same to possess, occupy and use, and the
profits thereof to apply to the maintenance and support of
the poor of Queen-Anne's county, which authority and
power shall remain with the said trustees over such pro-
perty, and the profits thereof, as long as the owner of the
