company or under their authority within this state.

CHAP. 159.

Sec...10. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be taken or construed so as to authorise the said
company to establish a banking institution, or to exercise,
direclty or indirectly, any of the privileges of a bank.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That this act shall be and
continue in force until the first day of January eighteen hun-
dred and fifty, and until the end of the next session of the
general assembly which shall happen thereafter.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That from and after the passage of this act, at all

electors of the senate, electors of president and vice-presi-
dent of the United States, of representatives in congress,
and of sheriffs, it shall be lawful for any justice of the peace
for the respective county in which such election is held,
to qualify the judges of such respective election, and their
derks, and the oaths administered by such justice shall be
as valid as if administered in the manner heretofore pre-
scribed by law.

CHAP. CLXI.

An Act for the dispatch of business in Baltimore Coun-
ty Court.

Passed Mar 3, 1829

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That from and after the first day of April next,
Baltimore county court shall be held on the first day of eve-
ry month, in each and every year, excepting the months of
March and August, unless such first day shall be Sunday,
and in that case, on the second day of such month, and the
terms thereof shall respectively be called after the different
months in which they are held; and the said terms may be
continued and held from the time of their commencement,
every day, Sundays excepted, until and including the last
of the same month.

and November in each and every year, shall be called Coun-
ty Terms, and shall be exclusively set apart and appointee
for the trials of causes, and hearing appeals, in which the de-
