cil of Hagerstown. The accounts of said respective officers of
registration shall be verified by vouchers and be subject re-
spectively to approval of the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 313.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County to contribute to the relief of women with depend-
ent children without means of support in Baltimore
County and to authorize a tax on the assessable property
of Baltimore County therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore County be
and they are hereby authorized to contribute to the mainte-
nance and support of women having dependent minor children
without adequate means of support in such amount as they in
their discretion deem proper.

SEC. 2. And be it further, enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Baltimore County be and they are hereby au-
thorized to levy a tax not to exceed one-half of one cent on the
hundred dollars on the assessable property of Baltimore
County for the purpose of securing funds to effect the pur-
poses of this Act.

CHAPTER 314.

.AN ACT to repeal Section 40 of Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Health,"
sub-title "Local Boards of Health," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 40 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Health," sub-title
"Local Boards of Health," be and the same is hereby repealed,
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
