shall vote "For Town Hall Bond Issue" than shall vote
"Against Town Hall Bond Issue," then the provisions of the
foregoing section shall immediately go into effect, All other
provisions of the charter in relation to the election are hereby
made applicable to said election as fully and to the same
extent as if fully incorporated herein, except as they may be
contradicted by or be repugnant to the provisions of this Act.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage, it being hereby declared
to be an emergency law and necessary to the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety.

CHAPTER 241.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Common
Council of Union Bridge, in Carroll County, to sell and
convey the Town Hall property in Union Bridge and ap-
ply the proceeds thereof to the redemption of outstanding
bonds.
WHEREAS, By an Act of the General. Assembly of Maryland
passed at its January Session, 1884, Chapter 29, the Mayor and
Common Council of the town of Union Bridge were author-
ized to issue bonds to an amount not exceeding $3,500.00 for
the purpose of liquidating certain indebtedness of said mu-
nicipality and the building of a town hall within the corporate
limits of said town, and
WHEREAS, In pursuance of said Act of 1884, Chapter 29,
the said Mayor and Common Council of Union Bridge issued
certain bonds to the amount of $3,500, and purchased a lot of
land located within the corporate limits of Union Bridge from
one William L. Pink and wife, who, by their deed dated May
14, 1883 conveyed said lot to the Mayor and Common Council
of Union Bridge, which deed is recorded among the Land
Records of Carroll County in Liber F. T. S. No. 59, folio 333,
and built a Town Hall upon said lot of land, and
WHEREAS, The said Town Hall so built and erected upon
said lot of land is badly in need of repair, and has become
dangerous and unsafe to occupy, therefore
