in said town of Mount Airy, and shall be applied for no other
purpose whatsoever. The sinking fund herein provided may
be invested in the bonds hereby authorized to be issued, and
the Mayor and Council of Mount Airy is hereby authorized
and empowered to pass all ordinances and to do all things
necessary for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of
this Act.

SECTION 4. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor
and Council of Mount Airy is hereby authorized and em-
powered to appropriate and use any funds in hand, which
may have been levied, collected and applied to the sinking
fund, for the purpose of redeeming the bonds hereby author-
ized to bo issued as they shall mature; provided that the.
proper amount shall be levied each and every year to take
earn of the proportionate part of the entire bonded indebted-
ness of said town.

SECTION 5. And be it further enaded. That the provision
of the preceding sections of this Act shall not become effective
unless the same, when submitted, as hereinafter provided to
the qualified voters of the town of Mount Airy at a regular
municipal election to be held next ensuing the passage of this
Act, shall be approved as follows: The manner of submission
shall be. that on the ballots at the next regular municipal elec-
tion ensuing the. passage of this Act, there shall be printed
the words "For Bond Issue" with a blank square opposite at
the right and the words "Against Bond Issue" with a blank
square opposite at the right, and all voters desiring to vote
for the proposition, as provided by the preceding sections of
this Act. shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the
words "For Bond Issue." and all voters desiring to vote
against the proposition, as provided by the preceding sections
of this Act. shall place a cross (X) in the square opposite the
words " Against Bond Issue." and if at such election a greater
number of persons shall vote "For Bond Issue" than shall
vote "Against Bond Issue" then the provisions of the afore-
going sections shall immediately go into effect. All other pro-
visions of the charter of Mount Airy in relation to the elec-
tion are hereby made applicable to said election as fully and
to the. same extent as if fully incorporated herein, except as
they may be contradicted by or be repugnant to. the pro-
visions of this Act.

SECTION 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act, is
