one year, such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than
seven hundred and fifty dollars per school year. Provided,
further, that if such teacher holds a second grade certificate
of the first class, and has taught in the public schools of the
State of Maryland for a period of two years, such teacher
shall receive a salary of not less than eight hundred dollars
per school year. Provided, further, that if such a teacher
holds a second grade certificate of the first class, and has
taught in the public schools of the State of Maryland for a
period of three years, such teacher shall receive a salary of
not less than eight hundred and fifty dollars per school year.
And provided, further, that if such a teacher holds a second
grade certificate of the first class, and has taught in the pub-
lic schools of the State of Maryland for a period of four years,
such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than nine hun-
dred dollars per school year.

SECTION 122C. No white teacher regularly employed in
the public schools of Howard County, holding a first grade
certificate, shall receive a salary of less than eight hundred
dollars per school year. Provided, if such a teacher holds a
first grade certificate of the first class, and has taught in the
public schools of the State of Maryland for a period of one
year, such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than eight
hundred and fifty dollars per school year. Provided, further,
that if such a teacher holds a first grade certificate of the first
class, and has taught in the public schools of the State of
Maryland for a period of two years, such teacher shall receive
a salary of not less than nine hundred dollars per school year.
Provided, further, that if such a teacher holds a first grade
certificate of the first class, and has taught in the public
schools of the State of Maryland for a period of three years,
such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than nine hun-
dred and fifty dollars per school year. And provided, fur-
ther, that if such a teacher holds a first grade certificate of the
first class, and has taught in the public schools of the State of
Maryland for a period of four years, such teacher shall re-
ceive a salary of not less than one thousand dollars per school
year.

SECTION 122D. No white teacher regularly employed as
principal of a one or two-teacher school in Howard County,
holding a first grade certificate of the first class, shall receive
a salary of less than eight hundred and fifty dollars per
