vested in it by the provisions of this Act; but if a majority of
the votes cast upon said question at said third election shall
be "Against Water Bonds," then this Act shall be void.
SECTION 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from June 1st, 1920.

CHAPTER 80.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County, Maryland, to issue bonds for the pur-
pose of paying for new school houses, improving and
repairing old school houses, and the equipment of same
in Wicomico County, Maryland, and providing for a
referendum vote on the proposed loan.
WHEREAS, The rapid increase in the population of said
Wicomico County, and the large increase in the number of
pupils attending the schools thereof, makes the building of
new school houses, improving and repair old school houses,
and equipping the. same, absolutely necessary for school ac-
commodations; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of building new school houses, im-
proving and repairing old school houses, and equipping same
in Wicomico County, Maryland, the County Commissioners for
Wicomico County be, and they are hereby authorized and di-
rected to issue and sell bonds, said bonds to be signed by the
President thereof, and attested by the Treasurer of Wicomico
County with the seal of said County Commissioners attached
thereto, to be known as "Public School Improvement Bonds of
Wicomico County, Maryland."
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the amount of said
bonds shall not exceed in the aggregate the sum of two hun-
dred thousand dollars ($200,000.00), to be issued in denomina-
tions of five hundred dollars ($500.00) each, on the faith and
credit of Wicomico County, Maryland, numbered consecutively
from one to four hundred, bearing interest at a rate not to
exceed five per centum per annum, payable in series as fol-
