imposed they may provide for the imprisonment of the
offender for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days, or until
the fine is paid, which imprisonment may be in the town
lock-up or in the county jail.

SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
Commissioners of Westernport may at any time provide by
ordinance for the codification or recodification of such ordi-
nances as have been or may hereafter be passed by them, and
for the printing of such codification or recodification thereof;
and the printed'copy of any ordinance or codification issued by
authority and under the sanction of said body shall be legal
evidence of the passage of said ordinance and the contents
thereof in any court of law or equity in this State.

SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor and
Commissioners of Westernport shall annually cause to be made
up, printed and distributed among the citizens of the town of
Westernport a detailed financial statement of the town's
affairs, showing the financial resources of the town and the
existing liabilities, as well as the income for the previous year
and the expenditures during the same, which statement shall
be made up and distributed not later than the month of June.

SEC. 15. And lye it further enacted, That all ordinances
of the said town of Westernport not inconsistent with any of
the powers and provisions of this Act, shall be and remain in
full force and power until repealed, altered, changed or modi-
fied by the Mayor and Commissioners of Westernport and that
the present officials of the town of Westernport shall continue
to hold office as such officials after the expiration of their
respective terms for which they were elected until their suc-
cessors are duly elected and qualified as provided by this
Act, exercising any and all of the powers, duties and privileges
granted to the Mayor and Commissioners of Westernport. as
a corporation or to any of its officials to the fullest extent as
set forth in this Act.

SEC. 16. And be it further enacted, That this is an emer-
gency measure, required for the public health and safety and
that this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage.
