the name, age, sex and race of the person so dying, the place
of death and the name of the disease if known ; and if no
physician was in attendance, then it shall be the duty of the
undertakers who have charge of such remains, to give notice to
the local health office; and any physician or undertaker who
shall fail, refuse or neglect to give such notice shall be fined
not less than ten nor more than one hundred dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws and parts
of laws inconsistent with this Act be and the same are hereby
repealed, to the extent of such inconsistency.

CHAPTER 497.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 20
of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title,
"Wild Fowl—Birds and Game," sub-title, "Birds and
Game." relating to the closed season in Calvert County
for quail, rabbits and pheasants.

(Vetoed.)

CHAPTER 498.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
197, 200 and 201 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes," sub-title "Taxa-
tion of Dogs," as said sections were enacted by Chapter
497 of the Acts of 1918, relating to the employment of
special officers, the awarding of damages and the prosecu-
tion of offenders.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 197, 200 and 201 of Article 81 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes,"
sub-title "Taxation of Dogs," as said sections were enacted
by Chapter 497 of the Acts of 1918, be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:

197. Any Justice of the Peace of the several counties after
having received and receipted for necessary blanks and tags,
may issue such dog licenses and tags in like manner as pre-
scribed for the issuance of licenses by the County Treasurer.
When a license is issued by the Justice of Peace, the said
Justice of the Peace, may retain as his fee for the issuance of
