CHAPTER 248.

CHAP. 249.

An act, entitled, an act to authorise and require the levy
court of Worcester county, to select places for holding
the elections in certain districts in said county.

Passed Mar. 21,
1837.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That as soon as the commissioners named in the act,
entitled, an act to provide for an alteration in the con-
stitution so far as relates to the division of the sixth
election district in Worcester county, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and thirty-five, chapter
two hundred and sixty-four, shall have laid off and
established an additional district out of the sixth elec-
tion district in said county, and shall have made return
of their proceedings to the levy court of said county, as
is provided for in said act, the levy court of said county
are hereby required at their first meeting after the re-
turn as aforesaid, or as soon thereafter as may be, to
fix upon and select proper places for holding the elec-
tions in each of the said districts.

CHAPTER 249.


An act relating to Mortgages in, the City of Baltimore.

Passed Mar. 81,
1837.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That every mortgage of any estate inter-
est or equity of redemption, in lands and tenements in
the city of Baltimore, containing therein a power to
the mortgagee or any other person, to sell the mort-
gaged premises, upon default being made in any con-
dition of said mortgage may be foreclosed in the man-
ner hereinafter specified.

closing

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in order to entitle
any person to foreclose a mortgage according to the
provisions of this act, notice that the same will be
foreclosed by a sale of the mortgaged premises, or some
part of them, shall be given by publishing the same
three times a week for three weeks, unless a longer
time is specified in the mortgage, in at least two daily
newspapers printed in the city of Baltimore.
