each share shall be paid by such instalments, and at
such times as the directors shall appoint according to
the provisions of the sixth section of the act to which
this is a supplement.

CHAP. 246.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That so much of the ori-
ginal act to which this is a supplement, as is inconsis-
tent with the provisions of this act, be, and the same
is hereby repealed.

An additional supplement to an act, entitled, an act to
provide for electing Commissioners for Harford coun-
ty, and prescribing their powers and duties, passed
December, session eighteen hundred and twenty-seven,
chapter eighty-one.

Passed Mar. 21,
1837.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, by the petition or a number of inhabitants of
Harford county, that the present made of electing com-
missioners for said county has the effect to prevent men
of business from canvassing for said office, owing to a
laborious and excited canvass which has to be under-
gone for at least three months beforehand; and whereas,
the compensation allowed by law to the commissioners
is inadequate to the labour and expense of canvassing
for said office throughout said county, Therefore:

Preamble

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act
Harford county shall he divided into two districts for
the purpose of electing commissioners for said county,

Two districts

that the first shall be composed of the districts now
known as the first, second and third election districts,
which shall elect three commissioners, one to be chosen

from each election district, and the second shall be com-
posed of the districts now known as the fourth and fifth
election districts, which shall in like manner elect two
commissioners, which said commissioners when so

elected shall succeed to all the rights, privileges and
immunities of the present board of commissioners in
said county.

Powers

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the several judges
of elections in Harford county shall hold and conduct
