SEC. 9. And be if enacted, That the weighing ap-
paratus shall be adjusted at least once in six months,
by the standard of weights for the city of Baltimore,
the expenses of which, together with all the expense for
repairs, shall be paid exclusively by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That all fines or for-
feitures imposed by this act, may be recovered with
costs, in the name of the Mayor and City Council, in
the same manner that small debts are now recovered
before justices of the peace, and the same when reco-
vered shall go one half tu the informer, and the other,
half to the city.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That each of the said
inspectors shall give bond to the Mayor and Citj
Council in the sum of two thousand dollars, for the
true and faithful performance of the duties of his office,
and all monies received by him in his capacity of in-
spector of hay and straw, shall, under oath, after

deducting two-thirds of said monies for his salary, be
paid over monthly to the Register of said city, for the
use thereof.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That all laws or parti
of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this act,
be and the same are hereby repealed.

An act to provide for the extension of the charters of
certain Banks therein mentioned.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the charters of the Farmers Bank of
Maryland and its branches, the Frederick County
Bank, the Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Frederick
County, the Hagerstown Bank, the Bank of Washing-
ton County, and the Cumberland Bank of Allegany,
be, and they are hereby severally extended and conti-
nued in force to the first day of January, in the year
eighteen hundred and sixty, and to the end of the next
session of the General Assembly thereafter.
