89 ~  Court convenes, Commissioners present: Francis Jenckins, Roger Woolford, Capt. William Whittington, Samuel Hopkins, Edmund Howard, Thomas Jones, Captain John King.

 

89 ~  County Levy laid; 1428 taxable persons; apportioned at 38 lbs/tbco per poll; execution ordered.

 

90 ~  John King submits account of Nicholas Carpenter, balance due of 572 lbs/tbco; items of clothing and food included; also mentions expenses at wife’s funeral; Court orders payment against estate; additional debt of 2200 lbs/tbco due per bills signed by Carpenter and presented in court; Court orders payment on these as well.

 

90 ~  Court orders Francis Jenkins and Capt. William Whittington purchase 200 acres on Dividing Creek for erection of a Courthouse; to be 20’ by 50’, underpinned with bricks and with chimney above and below; care and management to be solely left to Jenckins and Whittington; cost to be paid by County; memorandum note: Roger Woolford sat as president when order passed. 

 

90 ~  Jacob Mayle, merchant, Pltf. vs. William Dickinson, Deft. for 232 lbs/pork; Peter Dent, attorney for Mayle, presents account of Dickinson, dated 22 May 1693, for supplies; Sheriff Ephraim Wilson has attached goods of Dickinson to the value of 950 lbs/tbco, as ordered; now in keeping of William Harris; Court orders condemnation; record refers back to entry on f. 73.
