81 ~ [18 October 1692] Proclamation of Governor Copley Proroguing Assembly Maryland By his Excell’cie the Cap’t Gen’rl A Proclamation Whereas the last session of the Assembly of this Province begun and held as the Citty of St. Maryes on the 10th day of May last past and there continued to the 9th of June then next following was on the 9th of June adjourned untill the twentieth day of 8-ber now next ensuing which being now near at hand and noe urgent affairs or Occations relating to the State and Wellfair of this Province now occuring which might require the convening and sitting of the said assembly on the sd twentieth day of 8-ber to which the same hath been adjourned as aforesd I have thought full & doe hereby fully resolve, determine & ordaine that the said Gen’rl Asembly be further prerogued untill the 6th day of April next ensuing the date hereof thereby willing and requiring as also straightly charging & commanding all & singular the Sheriffs of this Province forthwith upon receipt hereof to make publick proclamation hereof in the most publick and convenient places within their severall respective Counties as also to all and singular the Delegates & Deputies by the freemen of their said Counties thereunto elected & chosen that all excuses sett apart they & every of them come & personally appear at the sd Citty of St. Maryes on the sixth Day of April next ensuing to doe & consent to those things which then and there by the favour of God shall happen to be ordained by & with the advice and consent of the great Counsell of this Province concerning the State & Wellfaire of this Province ~~ Given under my hand and seal this tenth day of 9-ber Anno Dom 1692 in the 4th year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord and Lady King William and Queen Mary ~~~ ¤ sealed L.
