Henry Smith appointing his son Thomas to act on his behalf Know all men by these presents that I Capt Henry Smith of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland Gentl, doe by these presents constitute, authorize, Ordain, Appoint & make my trusty & well beloved sonn Thomas Jones of the County & Province afd Gentl my true & lawfull Attorney for me & in my name, to aske receive & demand all manner of debt or debts, merchandize or otherwise, whether due by Bond Bill or acc’t or any wayes whatsoever, and if occasion be to arrest, sue or imprison & upon the payment of any debt or debts to give acquittances & discharges or releasements, out of Prisons as effectually as if personally present, and likewise to make one or more Attorney or Attorneys as he shall think convenient, ratifying & confirming what my sd Attorney shall lawfully doe or cause to be done to be as effectual as if I were personally present As witness my hand & seal this 12th day of July Anno Domini one thousand six hundred and ninety four Hen Smith ¤ |
