CHAPTER 37.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments., Chapter
188 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed in 1912, regulating the salaries of school teachers in
Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and to provide for the
levy by the County Commissioners of said County of the
funds necessary to provide for the payment of the salaries
of such teachers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 188 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1912 be, and the same is hereby, repealed and
re-enacted as follows:

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the salaries of all white teachers regularly em-
ployed in said County on and after the first day of September,
1916, shall be as follows: All white teachers regularly employ ect
in the public schools of Anne Arundel County shall receive a
salary of Four hundred dollars (400. 00) for the first year; all
such teachers employed in the public schools of Anne Arundel
County shall receive a salary of four hundred and twenty dol-
lars (420. 00) for the second year; all such teachers employed
in the public schools of Anne Arundel County shall receive a
salary of four hundred and forty dollars (440. 00) for the third
year; all such teachers employed in the public schools of Anne
Arundel County shall receive a salary of four hundred and
eighty dollars (480. 00) for the fourth year; all such teachers
employed in the public schools of Anne Arundel County shall
receive a salary of five hundred and twenty dollars (520. 00) for
the fifth year; all such teachers employed in the public schools
of Anne Arundel County shall receive a salary of five hundred
and sixty dollars (560. 00) for the sixth year; all such teachers
employed in public schools of Anne Arundel County shall re-
ceive a salary of six hundred dollars (600. 00) for the seventh
year and thereafter, as long as employed. And the said Board
of School Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are hereby
directed and required to pay the salaries of all teachers em-
ployed in Anne Arundel County, monthly.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That at their annual levy
term in the year 1916, and at each annual levy term thereafter,
the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County shall levy
such an amount as will be sufficient, together with the revenue
