fine not exceeding fifty dollars ($50. —) for any subsequent
offense.

74h. The State Board of Agriculture shall keep records of
all work performed in carrying out the provisions of this Act,
and shall report same as is required for its other activities.

74 i. The State Board of Agriculture shall fix the com-
pensation of its duly authorized officer or agent and control
the expenses thereof, and provide for the expenses incurred in
carrying out the provisions of this Act, from any monies ap-
propriated by the State to said Board.

SEC. II. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 374.

ACT to add a new and additional Section to Article 23 of
the Annotated Code of Public General Laws of Maryland
of 1911 (Bagby's Code), title "Corporations, " to be known
as Section 100a.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new and additional Section be, and the same
is hereby added to Article 23 of the Annotated Code of the
Public General Laws of Maryland of 1911 (Bagby's Code),
title "Corporations, " to be known as Section 100a to follow
Section 100, and to read as follows:

Section 100a. No corporation shall hereafter interpose the
defense of usury in any action at law or in equity.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from June 1, 1916.

CHAPTER 375.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 19 of
Article 97 of Bagby's Annotated Code of the Public Civil
laws of Maryland, title "Weights and Measures, " as amend-
ed by Chapter 802 of the Acts of 1914.
