Section 83. No body of men other than the regularly or-
ganized corps of the National Guard and the militia and the
troops of the United States, except such military organizations
as and are now in existence, shall associate themselves together
as a military company or organization, or parade in public as
a military company or organization, in any city or town in
this State, except by permission of the Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief.
Section 84. The Governor and Commander-in-Chief shall
have the power and authority, upon the recommendation of
the Adjutant General, to establish a separate organization of
the National Guard to be known as the "Motor Corps, M. N.
G., " to consist of such number of officers and men and to be
equipped in such manner and perform such duties as may be
prescribed by the Commander-in-Chief at the time of the es-
tablishment of said corps.
Section 85. When established, as provided in the preced-
ing section, the said" Motor Corps, M. N. G., shall be entitled
to all the rights and privileges conferred by this Article, except
that said Motor Corps shall not share in any appropriations
made for the support of the National Guard, unless the said
Motor Corps is called out for service by the Governor in case
of emergency or necessity to aid the National Guard in quell-
ing insurrection, invasion, riot, or breach of the peace; when
so called upon the members of said organization shall first
sign and execute and deliver, through their commanding offi-
cer, to the officers commanding the National Guard, to whom
it is ordered to report, a form of enlistment, to be prescribed
by the Governor, for a term of not less than thirty (30) days
nor more than ninety (90) days at one time, and if the serv-
ice of said Motor Corps shall not be required for the full term
of their enlistment they shall be discharged by the Governor.
All members of said organization, when called out into the
service of the State, as herein provided, shall be equipped and
paid by the State and shall be protected in the discharge of
their duties and in obeying the orders of the Governor, as
though a part of the National Guard of the State.
Section 86. To promote efficiency, and as a reward for con-
tinuous service, the Commander-in-Chief shall have power,
under regulations to be prescribed by him, to issue service
medals of appropriate designs to officers and enlisted men of
the Maryland National Guard who shall complete ten years of
continuous service.
