WHEREAS, the comptroller pursuant to the power and au-
thority in him vested by the acts of 1884, Chapter 116
(Bagby's Code, Article 19, Sections 38 to 40 inclusive), em-
ployed James G. Boss, Jr., to collect two claims of the State
of Maryland, one claim against William P. Cole, Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Baltimore County and the other claim
against the Western Union Telegraph Company of Baltimore
City;
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the comptroller of Maryland be, and he is
hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant upon the
treasurer for the sum of Four Hundred ($400. 00) Dollars in
favor of the said James G. Boss, Jr., for his legal services in
trying the cases of the State of Maryland vs. William. P. Cole,
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, and the State
of Maryland vs. the Western Union Telegraph Company of
Baltimore City.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
on the First day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 311.
AN ACT to repeal Article LXV of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland, entitled "Militia, " and all amendments
thereto, and to enact in lieu thereof a new article to be known
as Article LXV of the Public General Laws of Maryland.
Section I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Article LXV of the Public General Laws of Mary-
land entitled ''Militia, " and all amendments thereto, be and
the same are hereby repealed.
Section II. And be it further enacted, That in lieu of said
Article LXV of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, entitled "Militia, " and all amendments thereto, so re-
pealed, said Article LXV of the Code of Public General Laws
shall read as follows:
Section III. All the able-bodied male citizens and able
bodied males of foreign birth, who have declared their inten-
tions to become citizens, who are more than 18 and less than
