CHAPTER 302.

AN ACT to add a new section, to Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County, " sub-
title "Easton, " to be designated and numbered as Section
97 N N, conferring additional powers upon the Easton
Utilities Commission.

WHEREAS, It is desired to increase the revenues of the
municipal electric plant of Easton, and to that end to encour-
age and facilitate the increase of patrons of said plant and the
greater use of electric motors and household appliances among
the citizens of said town, therefore—

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following section be added to Article 21 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County, "
sub-title "Easton, " to be designated and numbered as Section

97NN.

SEC. 97 N N. That in addition to the powers now conferred
upon the Easton Utilities Commission, said Commission shall
have full power and authority to install electric wiring and
fixtures in the town of Easton and vicinity, to purchase ma-
terials and employ the necessary labor for such work, to buy
and sell electric materials and fixtures, and to borrow from
time to time upon a note or notes of the Commission, which
note or notes shall be a binding obligation of the Town of Eas-
ton and enforceable as such, such sum or sums of money as may
be necessary to enable said Commission to carry on said work,
such loans, however, at no time to exceed in the aggregate fif-
teen hundred dollars ($1500); provided a separate account
shall be kept of the moneys expended or received for or on
account of such work, and that said Commission apply, at fre-
quent periods, excess cash in hand from said work to the re-
duction of said loans, if any be made, and provided further,
that such work shall be done by the Commission at cost together
with legal interest thereon until paid.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1916.
