SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the State Roads
Commission of Maryland may make application to the Staff
Board of Prison Control, similar to the Boards of County Com-
missioners, for a State Convict Road force for the construction
and maintenance of state roads, and be under the same require-
ments and conditions as are herein set forth for the said
Board of County Commissioners or other County Roads Board
of the State of Maryland.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That the State Board
of Prison Control is hereby empowered to adopt special rules
applicable to such convicts that are employed upon public
work herein authorized and contemplated whereby convicts so
employed shall be granted additional good behavior allowance,
conditioned upon their good deportment and the cheerful com-
pliance with such rules and regulations as may be made by
said Board of Prison Control or said superintendent for the
management and control of the convicts so employed.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts conflicting with the provisions of this Act are hereby
repealed.

SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 212.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of a pension to Manno
Behrens by the Board of Police Commissioners of Baltimore
City ont of the Special Fund.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of Police Commissioners of Balti-
more City, be, and they are hereby directed to pay to Manno
Behrens for the rest of his natural life out of the Special Fund
a weekly pension equal to one-half of the weekly pay of a
regular patrolman of the Baltimore City Police Department,
in lieu of any pension now being paid the said Manno Behrens
under any law heretofore enacted.

Approved April 11th. 1916.
