EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 345

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this Act, it shall
not be lawful for any person whether licensed to catch oysters
or not, to take or catch oysters with rakes or tongs or other
similar instruments in that portion of Herring Bay, Anne
Arundel County inside of a line beginning at U. S. C. & G. S.
Triangulation Station "Parker" which is located on the North
side of the entrance to Herring Bay on a small detached sane
island South of Parker Island, about twenty-five yards from
the extreme South end and just above high water mark, thence,
running from the aforementioned Station, S. 12 degrees 40
minutes E. (true) a distance of 1430 meters (1565 yards)
along the line marking the territorial limits of Anne Arundel
Co., to its intersection with the westerly boundary (between
corners No. 2 and No. 3) of "Long Natural Oyster Bar";
thence, running from this point of intersection, South 20 de-
grees 50 minutes W. (true) a distance of 2220 meters (2430
yards) to the Beacon located on the Southerly side of Herring
Bay, thence running, from the said Beacon, S. 45 degrees OO
minutes W. (true) Southwest 915 meters (1000 yards) to
the shore. Between the twenty-fifth day of April, and the first
day of December in each and every year.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person violating the
provisions of this Act, shall, upon conviction before a Justice
of the Peace, or the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County,
be sentenced to pay a fine of twenty-five dollars for the first
offense and the sum of fifty dollars for a second offense pro-
vided, that any person convicted before a Justice of the Peace
of said County shall have the right of appeal, if taken within
ten days, to the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That it shall be the duty of the
Board of Shell Fish Commissioners to have the proper buoys
placed along said line, after the passage of this Act.
