SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from June 1st, 1916.

CHAPTER 181.
AN ACT to authorize, direct and empower the County Com-
missioners of Cecil County to create a bonded debt and bor-
row money for the purpose of reconstructing or rebuilding,
furnishing and equipping the Cecil County Court House
and public offices and providing proper sewerage for the
same and acquiring real estate, if necessary, for the above
purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Cecil County
be, and they are hereby authorized, empowered, directed and
required to reconstruct or rebuild, as in the judgment of a
majority of the Commission hereinafter named may seem best,
on its present site, the Court House in the town of Elkton,
Cecil County aforesaid, in such a manner that the reconstructed
or rebuilt Court House shall contain suitable rooms for the
Circuit Court for said County, fire proof offices in which to
keep the public records of said Court and land records, also
proper rooms and offices for the Register of Wills, Orphans'
Court, County Commissioners, County Treasurer, School Com-
missioners of said County, sufficient jury, witness and other
necessary rooms therein and to tear down and remove all or so
much of the present Court House as may be necessary for said
reconstruction or rebuilding and to furnish the reconstructed
or rebuilt building with proper furniture and filing cases and
to drain said Court House and the land on which it shall be
erected and provide suitable outlets for the sewage therefrom;
to make the necessary excavations and lay sewers and pipes
in and across the public streets of said town and under and
across such other lands as may be necessary for that purpose,
and the said Commissioners are hereby authorized, directed and
required to acquire either by purchase or condemnation pro-
ceedings such additional land together with the buildings
thereon for the above purposes or any of them as the Commis-
sion hereinafter named may deem necessary and shall request
in writing said County Commissioners to acquire; and if the
