MARYLAND, Sct:
At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun and
held in the City of Annapolis, on the Fifth day of
January, 1916, and ending on the Third day of
April, 1916, the Honorable Emerson C. Harrington
being Governor of the State, the following Laws
were enacted, to wit:
CHAPTER 1.
AN ACT authorizing the dissolution of the Sewerage Commis-
sion on February 1, 1916, and providing for the completion
of any work of said commission not fully completed on that
date.
WHEREAS, by virtue of the provisions of Chapter 349, Acts
of 1904, Sewerage Commissioners were appointed to construct
a Sewerage system for the City of Baltimore, and the Com-
missioners duly appointed have substantially completed said
system and have discharged their duties and powers relative
thereto, and desire to go out of office on February 1, 1916,
and a further continuance of the Sewerage Commission, with
its officers and organization will entail an unnecessary expenses
upon the taxpayers of Baltimore City, Therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said Sewerage Commissioners be relieved
and discharged from any further duties in relation to the Sew-
erage System of Baltimore City on February 1, 1916.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all funds which
may remain on said date February 1, 1916, subject to the
order of the said Sewerage Commission for use for ther pur-
poses of the construction of the Sewerage System, shall be held
by the Comptroller of Baltimore City for the payment of any
balances, debts and obligations incurred for said purposes by
Said Sewerage Commission to the same extent as if said Com-
mission had continued in office.
