SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Managers or governing body of the
Maryland House of Correction are hereby fully authorized to
purchase timber land adjacent to the lands of the said House of
Correction or in the vicinity of the same, for the purpose of en-
larging the holdings of said House of Correction, and of giving
work to the inmates thereof and for drainage purposes, upon
such terms as to payment of the same, as they may deem proper
and at such price or prices as they may consider fair; and they
are further authorized to purchase timber land and after cutting
the timber wood upon said land and grubbing the same to sell
the said land for the benefit of said House of Correction, should
they decide not to hold said land.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Board of Managers or
other governing body of the Maryland House of Correction are
authorized to pay for said land so purchased out of any funds
in their hands not otherwise impressed by a specific trust or
direction to the contrary.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 7, 8, 11, 16 and 19B of Article 43
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"Health, " sub-title "State Registrar of Vital Statistics, "
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 7, 8, 11, 16 and 19B of Article 43 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Health, "
sub-title '' State Registrar of Vital Statistics, '' be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to
read as follows:
