the purpose of carrying out the provisions of Article 58
of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
as amended by the Acts of the General Assembly of 1916,
title "LIVE STOCK", the sum of twenty-five thousand dol-
lars; for the support of a State Biological Laboratory, and
the manufacture and distribution of hog cholera serum, and
for such other work as may be necessary to circumscribe
and suppress this and other diseases, as provided in Chap-
ter 842 of the Acts of 1912, the sum of five thousand
dollars; for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of
Chapter 424 of the Acts of 1914, providing for the inspec-
tion of farm seeds, the sum of five thousand dollars; for the
purpose of carrying out the provisions of Article 48 of the
Annotated Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, as
amended by the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1916, title "INSPECTION", sub-title, "STATE HOR-
TICULTURAL DEPARTMENT", and for the further pur-
pose of carrying out Sections 74-A, 74-B, 74-C, 74-D, 74-E,
74-F, 74-G, 74-H and 74-I of said Article, relating to the
encouragement of agriculture, the sum of eight thousand dol-
lars; for paying the salaries of officers, assistants and clerks,
and for defraying the expenses of travel, office rent, and for
the purchase of necessary office supplies and furniture, the
sum of five thousand dollars; and, for deficiency in interest,
the sum of two thousand, forty-seven dollars and forty-four
cents.
LEGISLATURE.
To pay the President of the Senate a per diem of eight
dollars; for the per diem of twenty-six Senators five dollars
each; for the per diem of one Secretary of the Senate ten dol-
lars; for the per diem of one assistant to the Secretary of the
Senate seven dollars; for the per diem of one stenographer to
the Secretary of the Senate, five dollars; for the per diem of
one Journal Clerk, ten dollars; for the per diem of one Assistant
Journal Clerk, seven dollars; for the per diem of one Reading
Clerk, ten dollars; for the per diem of one Sergeant-at-arms,
seven dollars; for the per diem of one Chaplain, five dollars;
for the per diem of one Secretary to the President of the Senate,
six dollars; for the per diem of one stenographer to the Presi-
dent of the Senate, five dollars; for the per diem of one door-
keeper to the President of the Senate, five dollars; for the
per diem of one Postmaster, six dollars; for the per diem of
one calendar clerk, five dollars; for the per diem of one chief
engrossing or printing clerk, six dollars; for the per diem of
four proof readers or copy holders, five dollars each; for the
per diem of two bill room clerks, five dollars each; for the per
diem of five doorkeepers, five dollars each; for the per diem of
