that provided by law for the canvass of votes at State and
County elections. Upon the completion of the canvass, the
Judges shall make out and sign two duplicate copies of a state-
ment or return of the result of the canvass on blank forms to
be furnished by the Board of Supervisors of Election. Which
statement they shall place in sealed envelopes. On the morn-
ing next succeeding the day of election, the Judges shall de-
liver one copy of said statement or return to the President
of the Board of Election Supervisors, and at the same time
they shall deliver. the other copy of said statement or return
to the City Clerk. Before separating, and after the comple-
tion of the canvass herein provided for, the said Judges shall
place in the ballot box all ballots cast, together with the de-
fective, spoiled and rejected ballots, and also the tally sheets,
and having locked and sealed the ballot box, they shall deliver
the same with the key thereof to the City Clerk to be kept by
him.

Section 295. The Board of Supervisors of Election shall
meet at the City Council chamber at the hour of twelve o'clock
noon on the day next succeeding the day of election, and from
the statement or return filed with them as hereinbefore pro-
vided by the Judges of Election, they shall proceed to canvass
the number of votes cast at said election, and shall declare
and proclaim the result of said election; and they shall pre-
pare and file with the City Clerk, addressed to the Mayor and
City Council, a written statement signed by them, or a major-
ity of them, of the result of said election. And the said Board
of Supervisors of Election shall have jurisdiction to hear and
determine, under such rules and regulations as the Mayor and
City Council may by ordinance prescribe, all contested City
elections, and any party to such contest may, within ten days
after such determination by said Board, appeal to the Circuit
Court for Harford County.

Section 296. Except where herein otherwise specially pro-
vided for, all City elections, whether regular or special, here-
after to be held in the City of Havre de Grace, shall be con-
ducted substantially in the same manner as State and County
elections are conducted. And the offences and penalties pre-
scribed by law for State and County elections shall be appli-
cable to all election officers appointed under the provisions of
this Act, and to all other persons to whom the same may be
reasonably applied.
