County, any land, tenements and hereditaments for the purpose
of improving the conditions of the poor of said county.

SEC. 9. They shall make out and render to the County Com-
missioners, at their first meeting in October in 1916, and every
six months thereafter, semi-annual reports, embracing a state-
ment of their accounts and expenditures, with necessary vouch-
ers of preceding half-year; and the said Commissioners shall
have the power to reject such reports until the same shall have
been made in a plain and business-like manner; and upon
failure of said trustees to make correct and satisfactory reports,
the said County Commissioner are authorized and empowered
to dismiss any or all trustees and to fill such vacancies.

SEC. 10. Meetings of the trustees shall be held at the County
Home monthly or oftener, but nothing in this Act shall prevent
their holding other meetings at other places if, in their judg-
ment, it seems advisable.

SEC. 11. They shall appoint an overseer at such salary and
for such term as they may deem proper.

SEC. 14. The trustees, or a majority of them, shall make
such rules and by-laws as they, or a majority of them shall
think convenient and" necessary for the direction, government
and support of the County Home, and the employment of all
poor persons that may be committed there.

SEC. 17. At the first meeting of the trustees held after
qualification as such, they shall select from their number a
chairman, a secretary and a treasurer to hold office for one
year unless sooner discharged by the trustees.

SEC. 21. Any two trustees may, under their hands, in
writing, appoint what poor shall be received into said County
Home.

SEC. 22. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County shall levy as other moneys are levied, the sum of $4, 000
for the support of the Anne Arundel County Home for the
year beginning July 1, 1916, and they shall pay to the trustees
of said County Home on the first day of August, $1, 000 thereof,
and on the first day of October, $1, 000 thereof, and on the first
day of October, $1, 000 thereof, and on the first day of February,
$1, 000 thereof and on the first day of May the balance of $1, 000,
and each year thereafter they shall levy and pay to said trustees
, the sum of $3, 000, payable in installments as above set forth
for the support of the County Home and, in addition thereto,
