SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 653.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 865, 866, 867, 868, 869, 870, 871,
872 and 873 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland as enacted by Chapter 123 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1898, title "City of Bal-
timore, " sub-title "Vagrants, Paupers, Beggars, Vagabonds
and Disorderly Persons, " and to enact a new Section in
lieu of Section. 865 of said Article 4, making it a mis-
demeanor for any person to demand or accept any remunera-
tion or gratuity for forecasting or foretelling or pretending
to forecast or foretell the future of another by certain means
and providing the penalty therefor; to enact new sections
in lieu of sections 868, 869, 870, 871 and 873 of said Arti-
cle 4; to re-enact with amendments Section 866 of said
Article 4, so as to make it a misdemeanor for any female
person to solicit or procure or attempt to solicit or procure
or walk the streets of said city for the purpose of soliciting
or procuring any male person or persons to engage in sexual
intercourse or in any other immoral practice with her or
any other person for compensation or reward and otherwise
to amend said Section 866; to re-enact with amendments
-Section 867 of said Article 4 and to re-enact Section 871
as section 872 of said Article 4.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 865, 866, 867, 868, 869 870, 871, 872 and
873 of Article 4 of. the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
as enacted by Chapter 123 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1898, title "City of Baltimore, " sub-title "Vag-
rants, Paupers, Beggars, Vagabonds and Disorderly Persons"
be and the same are hereby repealed and that new sections be
enacted in lieu of Sections 865 868, 869, 870, 871 and 873 of
said Article 4; that Section 866 and 867 of said Article 4 be
re-enacted with amendments and that section 871 of said Arti-
cle 4 be re-enacted as section 872 of said Article 4, so that said
sections 865 to 873 inclusive of said Article 4 shall read as
follows:
