CHAPTER 621.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 24
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title "Rate and Items of State
Tax, " as said Section was amended by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland of 1914, Chapter 396.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 24 of Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-title "Rate
and Items of State Tax, " as said Section was amended by the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1914, Chapter 396, be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
so as to read as follows:
24. The County Commissioners of the several Counties of
the State, and the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore are
directed to levy the State Taxes, to be collected according to
law, and to be apportioned for the year nineteen hundred and
seventeen, as follows: A tax of fifteen cents on each one hun-
dred dollars to aid in the support of the public schools, and a
tax of two cents to aid in the support of the public schools, and
for governmental requirements, said taxes for public schools to
be distributed according to law among the several Counties and
the City of Baltimore: a tax of one and three-fourths (1 3/4)
of one cent on each one hundred dollars, to meet the interest
and create a sinking fund for the redemption of the "Public
Buildings Loan; " a tax of three (3) cents on each one hundred
dollars, to meet the interest and create a sinking fund for the
redemption of the State Roads Loan; " a tax of seven-eighths
(7/8) of one cent on each one hundred dollars, to meet the
interest and create a sinking fund for the redemption of the
