lished in any of the modes as aforesaid, shall be deemed suffi-
cient.

407. If the owner of any lot fronting on any open or trav-
eled street, avenue or alley shall neglect or refuse to fill up, dig
down, pave, repave or repair the footways or sidewalks in front
of such lot, for the space of thirty days after service of a
printed order as aforesaid, to be reckoned in case of a publica-
tion in a newspaper from the date of the first publication there-
in, then the said County Commissioners are hereby authorized
and directed to have the said footways or sidewalks filled up,
dug down, paved, repaved, or repaired in the manner provided
for in the previous Sections of this sub-title of this Article.

409. All streets, avenues and alleys that have been or may
be opened, condemned and constructed, or that may be opened,
condemned or constructed for public use under and by virtue of
any of the provisions of this sub-title of this Article, and also
all streets, avenues and alleys that have been opened and con-
structed for public use, and dedicated by the owner of the prop-
erty through which said street, avenue or alley passes, shall be
deemed and taken as a public highway of Baltimore County,
and shall be kept in repair by the said County Commissioners,
as other roads and avenues of said County.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That all laws and parts of laws,
Acts and parts of Acts, inconsistent herewith, be ani the same
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That this Act take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 518.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 44-D,.
Article 14, of Volume 2, of the Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Howard County," sub-title "County Commis-
sioners and County Collectors," as enacted by Chapter 83 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland at its January
Session of 1904.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 44-D of Article 14 of Volume 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Howard County,"
