84 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

'' Clerks of Courts," to be known as Section 12-A, and to fol-
low immediately after Section 12, and to reduce the cost of
making up the record in all cases of appeals from any court of
this State to the Court tof Appeals.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new Section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 36 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
title "Fees of Officers," sub-title "Clerks of Courts," to be
known as Section 12-A and to follow immediately after Section
12, and to read as follows:

12-A. In all cases of appeals to the Court of Appeals, boxh
at law and in equity, the Clerk of the Court from which said
appeal is taken shall charge but ten cents per hundred words
and no more for making up the record of same, and when type-
written copies of any of the papers, or of the testimony neces-
sary to make up said record, are furnished by either of the
parties to said cause, or their counsel, the said Clerk shall
charge for that part of the record but two cents per hundred
words for comparison, instead of the above charge, and no
more.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws and parts
of laws inconsistent herewith be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall go
into effect on September 1st, 1914.

CHAPTER 68.

AN ACT to add an additional Section to Article 75 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Pleadings, Practice and Process
at Law," sub-title "Pleadings," to follow Section 10 of said
Article; and to be known as Section 10-A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following Section be and it is hereby added to
Article 75 of the Code of Public General Laws, title '' Pleadings,
Practice and Process at Law," sub-title "Pleadings," to follow
Section 10 of said Article, and to be known as Section 10-A,
and to read as follows:

10-A. In all cases in which a defendant shall plead a dila-
tory plea, and such dilatory plea shall be overruled or dis-
