Maryland House of Correction, and the successors to said
Board, shall be authorized and empowered to purchase or lease
lands or chattels, real, necessary or convenient to the said
House of Correction and proper for its use, on such terms as
said Board may in its discretion deem advisable, and to pay
for the same out of any funds appropriated for that purpose
by the General Assembly of Maryland, or funds coming into
the hands of the said Board of Managers of the Maryland
House of Correction, and proper for its use, on such terms as
said Board may in its discretion deem advisable, and to pay
for the same out of any funds appropriated for that purpose
by the General Assembly of Maryland, or funds coming into
the hands of the said Board of Managers of the Maryland
House of Correction, or its successors, from the employment of
inmates, or in any other way, unless such funds be impressed
by a specific trust or direction to the contrary.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 489.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 154 of
Article 23 of the Code of Public General Laws (Bagby's
Code), entitled "Corporations," sub-title "Insurance Com-
panies, '' and to add immediately thereafter ten new Sections,
to be designated as Sections 154-A, 154-B, 154-C, 154-D,
154-E, 154-F, 154-G, 154-H, 154-I and 154-J, pertaining to
the organization and regulation of and in relation to mutual
insurance associations for insuring employers against loss,
damage or compensation resulting from injuries suffered by
employees or other persons for which the employer or person
insured is liable and to injured employees, or, in the event
of death, to their dependents payment of the compensation
for such injuries, and for insuring sick, old age, non-employ-
ment and other benefits to such employees.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 154 of Article 23 of the Code of Public
General Laws (Bagby's Code), entitled "Corporations," sub-
title "Insurance Companies," be and the same is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted with amendments, and immediately there-
after is hereby added ten new Sections, to be designated as
