to them by the Secretary of the State as above provided for, in
manner and form and in all respects similar to the way in
which the names of candidates for the nomination for Governor
are required to be printed upon the official primary ballots by
the provisions of Section 160-K of this Article.
The qualifications of voters in such Presidential and Vice-
Presidential primaries held hereunder of the several political
parties subject to this sub-title shall be the same as in the pri-
mary elections held under this sub-title for the nomination of
candidates for public office in Maryland.
The names of such candidates for the nomination for Presi-
dent of the United States of said several political parties upon
the official primary ballots shall be arranged and said ballots
shall be prepared and shall be marked and cast by voters in
the same manner as is prescribed by the provisions of this sub-
title with respect to the nomination in the primary election of
candidates for the office of Governor of Maryland, except that
there shall be no preferential voting and no designation upon
such ballots as to first and second choice or similar relative pref-
erence and except as herein otherwise further provided.
The candidate for the nomination for President who shall
receive the highest number of votes lawfully cast and counted
in the primary elections of his party in any county and in any
legislative district in the State convention of such party held
to select delegates to the national convention of such party, and
the votes cast in each such primary election in each county and
legislative district of Baltimore City shall be canvassed and
certified by the respective Boards of Supervisors of Elections
in Baltimore City and in the several counties of the State in
such manner as plainly to indicate which candidate for Presi-
dent in said several and respective counties and legislative dis-
tricts received the highest number of votes therein; and the
tally sheets and the returns and the certificates thereof shall
be made out accordingly so as to indicate plainly such results
of said election in each of said counties and legislative districts
and not in the manner required by Section 160-K of this
sub-title with respect to the votes for first and second choice
and the tallies, returns and certificates of such first and second
choice in the nomination of candidates for Governor and other
State offices.
The several delegations from each county and legislative dis-
trict in the State shall be required to cast their votes on each
and every ballot in the State convention with respect to the
instruction and the votes in the national convention of the del-
