(51 A.) 89. The State Board of Agriculture shall be au-
thorized to obtain samples of seeds sold or offered for sale with-
in the State of Maryland, and shall cause the same to be ex-
amined and analyzed for the purpose of determining their
purity and vitality, or any other facts affecting their value for
seeding; and shall publish the results of such examination, to-
gether with the statement of purity of said seed as furnished
by the vendor, together with the names and addresses of the
persons, firms, companies, corporations or agents from whom
such seeds were purchased, and the name or destination under
which such seeds were sold, know or advertised for sale or use.
Ten days before the publication of the results of the analysis of
a sample which is below the standard represented a report shall
be made to the vendor.
(51B.) 90. (That) all seeds hereinafter sold or offered for
sale in lots of one bushel or more shall be labeled, said label to
contain a statement (of the purity and kind of seed and the
amount of foreign matter) plainly marked thereon giving the
name of the seed, the approximate percentage of purity, of inert
matter, and of foreign seed therein; each label shall also con-
tain a statement plainly marked thereon giving the approxi-
mate percentage of germination, obtained by laboratory test,
and the month and year when said test was made. One copy of
said label shall be securely fastened upon the exterior of the bag
or other receptacle containing said seed, and another copy of
same shall be placed within said bag or other reccptable. Sec-
tions (51 A) 89 and (51 B) 90 shall not apply to seeds sold for
food or manufacturing purposes, or to seeds marked "un-
cleaned,'' or to lawn grass or pasture mixtures.
(510.) 91. Any resident of Maryland desiring an analysis
of seed may submit samples of the same to the State Board of
