596 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of
this Act shall be construed as conferring additional and sup-
plementary powers and jurisdiction on said Court and not in
substitution of or in conflict with any other powers possessed
by the Circuit Court for Harford County under any existing
general or local laws.

SEC. 15. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of
laws now in force in the State of Maryland, in conflict with the
provisions of this Act, are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict, but no further.

SEC. 16. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1914.

CHAPTER 368.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners of
Harford County to use prisoners confined in the County Jail
for the purpose of building or repairing the County roads, or
for any other work which they may deem proper, under the
supervision and control of the sheriff of said County; and to
provide for the payment by said County Commissioners to said
sheriff of all expense connected therewith.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Harford County be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to use all pris-
oners confined in the County Jail of said County for the pur-
pose of building or repairing the County roads, or for any other
work which they may deem proper, under the supervision and
control of the sheriff of said County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said County Com-
missioners shall pay to the said sheriff all reasonable expenses
incurred by him under the provisions of Section 1; the payment
therefor to be made in the same manner as the other accounts
of the sheriff are now paid.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
