corporations of this State, including their franchises, shares and
property, and national banks located in this State shall remain
and be subject to taxation, as now is or hereafter may be pro-
vided by law, and nothing herein shall be construed to exempt
an ordinary business corporation from the payment of any
license tax or charge imposed by law.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 16th, 1914.

CHAPTER 325.

AN ACT to regulate the sale or granting of licenses for the sale
of spirituous and fermented liquors in St. Mary's County and
to repeal Sections 60 to 86, both inclusive, of Article 56 of
Bagby's Code, title "Licenses," subtitle "Spirituous or Fer-
mented Liquors of Retailers and Ordinary Keeper," so far
as the same apply to St. Mary's County and to repeal Chap-
ter 493 of the Acts of 1912, entitled An Act to enable the qual-
ified voters of St. Mary's County to determine by ballot
whether or not a higher license fee shall be charged for the
sale of spirituous, fermented or intoxicating liquors or alco-
holic bitters in St. Mary's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 60 to 86, both inclusive, of Article 56 of
Bagby's Code, title "Licenses," sub-title "Spirituous or Fer-
mented Liquors of Retailers and Ordinary Keeper," so far as
the same apply to St. Mary's County, be and the same are hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Chapter 493 of the Acts of 1912, entitled An Act to enable
the qualified voters of St. Mary's County to determine by ballot,
whether or not, a higher license fee shall be charged for the sale
of spirituous, fermented or intoxicating liquors or alcoholic bit-
ters in St. Mary's County, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. Be it enacted, That no person shall hereafter sell,
offer or keep for sale in St. Mary's County, Maryland, in spirit-
uous or fermented liquors of any kind whatsoever, without hav-
ing previously obtained a license therefor as hereinafter pro-
vided, but this Act shall not apply to a sale or sales made by
any person under provisions of law requiring him to sell per-
