of money herein appropriated for the objects and purposes
herein specified, to, or upon the order of the person or persons
entitled to receive the same.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 322.
AN ACT to establish and maintain a sub-station of the Maryland
Experiment Station on the Eastern Shore, to be located at
Ridgely, Caroline County, Maryland; to purchase a tract of
land, including farm buildings and equipment, now owned by
the Board of County School Commissioners of Caroline
County, a body corporate, immediately adjoining and origi-
nally a part of the tract now occupied by the Agricultural
High School at Ridgely, Md.; and to appropriate certain
sums of money to carry out the provisions of this Act.
WHEREAS, By an Act of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January Session, Eighteen hundred and eighty-
eight, Chapter fifty-five, the consent of the State of Maryland
was thereby given to the purposes of a grant made by an Act
passed at the Second Session of the Forty-ninth Congress of the
United States, Chapter three hundred and fourteen, entitled
"An Act to establish agricultural experiment stations to con-
nect with the colleges established in the several States, * * *,"
and the Maryland Agricultural College was designated as the
college entitled to receive the sum appropriated for Maryland;
and
WHEREAS, There has been erected, and is now being used, at
Ridgely, Caroline County, Maryland, a modern-type high-school
building, well equipped with manual training, domestic science,
chemical and agricultural departments and laboratories, and
there has been purchased and is now being used in connection
therewith, a tract of about fifty (50) acres of land, immediately
adjoining said High School, in good state of cultivation, im-
proved by a modern dwelling, tenant house and farm buildings,
including farm equipment and live stock, sufficient for the use
of an experiment farm; and
WHEREAS, The establishment of a sub-station of the Maryland
Experiment Station to be located on the Eastern Shore is in
