436 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That the Commissioners shall
give at least ten days' notice of all elections and registrations;
by posting hand bills in at least five conspicuous places in said
town.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That Joseph McCormick, Benja-
min Bradley and Thomas Mowbray be and they are hereby ap-
pointed registrars to hold the first or second registration of
voters under this Act, and that immediately after the passage
of this Act they shall give at least ten days' notice of the time
and place thereof by hand bills posted in at least five public
places in said town, at which all qualified voters as provided
for in the third Section of this Act may be registered; and the
said officers of registration shall take oath before some justice
of the peace of the said County, to permit every qualified voter
to register and none other; the majority of the registration
officers shall have power to do all things under this Section in
ease one of them dies or refuses to act; that upon the completion
of the registry of voters the officers herein named shall give
the judges of election a list of the names so registered; and
after this Act shall take effect the said Commissioners shall
make such rules and regulations in regard to registration of
voters as they may deem proper.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That F. P. Showalter, J. H.
McGann and Gordon Durst be, and they are hereby appointed,
judges of election to hold the first or the second election under
this Act, and that at least ten days before the first Monday
in May, nineteen hundred and fourteen, or the first Monday
in May, nineteen hundred and fifteen, they shall give notice
that the election shall be held and the time and place thereof
by hand bills posted in at least five public places in said town,
at which election all persons qualified as prescribed in Section
three of this Act, shall be entitled to vote for five persons for
Commissioners, one person for Clerk and one person for Bailiff,
and such judges of election before opening the polls, shall take
oath before some justice of the peace in Allegany County, to
permit every qualified voter to vote and none other, and a
majority of said judges shall have power to do all things herein
provided in case one should die or refuse to act.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That at the said election each
voter shall be provided with a ticket by the judges of election,
similar to what is known as the Australian Ballot, which is
being used in the State of Maryland for County and State elec-
