PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 293

SEC. 2. And be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of seven hundred and fifty dollars or so
much thereof as may be necessary, payable out of any monies
in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated is hereby appro-
priated, subject to the audit of the Comptroller, for the pay-
ment of the expenses of the Commissioners from the State of
Maryland for the Promotion of Uniformity of Legislation in
the United States for the year ending September 30, 1916.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said board may, out of its
annual appropriation, contribute to the expense of the con-
ference of the commissioners from the various States such sum
as they may think proper, not exceeding two hundred and fifty
dollars per annum.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 204.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for the painting and
framing of the portrait of the late Governor Austin L.
Crothers, to be placed in the State House at Annapolis in the
State of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars be and
the same is hereby appropriated to provide for the payment of
a portrait of the late Governor Austin L. Crothers, said por-
trait to be painted and properly framed under the supervision
of the Board of Public Works of the State of Maryland, and
placed in the Maryland State House.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That upon the completion of the
work of painting and framing such a portrait by the person
selected by the Board of Public Works, and to the satisfaction
of that body, the said Board of Public Works shall issue its
certificate to the Comptroller that the said work has been com-
pleted by the person so selected, whereupon the Comptroller
shall issue his warrant upon the Treasurer in favor of the per-
son so named, and the Treasurer is hereby directed to pay the
said sum of Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
