1554 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 16th, 1914.

CHAPTER 824.

AN ACT to amend the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, Article 39-A, title '' Forestry,'' by adding thereto eleven
new Sections conferring power upon the State Board of For-
estry to plant trees along roadsides, to protect roadside trees,
to establish one or more nurseries for their propagation, to
prohibit the unauthorized placing of advertisements and other
notices on the public highways or on the property of other
persons, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof, said
new Sections to be known as Sections 15-A, 15-B, 15-C, 15-D,
15-E, 15-F, 15-G, 15-H, 15-I, 15-J and 15-K, and to follow
immediately after Section 15 in Bagby's Annotated Code of
the Public Civil Laws of Maryland, 1911.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That eleven new Sections be and the same are hereby
added to the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, Article
39-A, title "Forestry," conferring power upon the State Board
of Forestry to plant trees along the roadsides, to protect road-'
side trees, to establish one or more nurseries for their propa-
gation, to prohibit the unauthorized placing of advertisements
and other notices on the public highways or on the property of
other persons, and to provide a penalty for the violation thereof,
said new Sections to be known as Sections 15-A, 15-B, 15-C,
15-D, 15-E, 15-F, 15-G, 15-H, 15-I, 15-J, 15-K, and to follow
immediately after Section 15 in Bagby's Annotated Code of
Public Civil Laws of Maryland, 1911, and to read as follows:

15-A. The State Board of Forestry shall, in addition to the
powers heretofore granted it, have the power to plant trees along
the roadsides, to make all rules and regulations governing their
planting, to care for and protect all roadside trees of this State,
and to establish one or more State Forest Nurseries for the
propagation of trees for such roadside planting.

15-B. Roadside trees as designated in this Act shall mean
all trees planted by the Forest Wardens; or existing trees three
inches or more in diameter measured two feet from the ground
that may be growing within the right of way of any public
